Northam is the largest town in the Avon Valley with just over 6000 people residing here. It is the gateway and commercial hub for the rich farmland that surrounds the town.

Very accessibly, Northam is just a quick one hours drive from Perth and makes the perfect day trip to visit. Grab yourself a picnic basket and eat lunch in the fields of picturesque Northam.

The Avon River flows directly through the town and provides plenty of spots with trees and shady embankments to give you a quiet place to relax and enjoy the day. If you like peacefulness you definately have found it here. Why not look for some accomodation in town and stay here overnight ot the weekend?.

Northam has a suspension bridge that goes over the Avon river for your enjoyment and sightseeing. The area is home too to the beautiful white swan and also boasts alot of bird life. Very eco friendly.

There are great alfrescoe cafe's, restaurants and pubs to enjoy the perfect meal at. After lunch feed your senses with lovely places to visit such as the Morby Cottage. Built in 1836 by the founder of Northam it was once a church, but now seves its purpose as a museum.

Avon is devinately about ballooning. There is nothing quite like to adventure aboard a flying vessel overlooking all the beautiful farm fields and enjoying the fresh air. One very memorable experience.
