Nelson Information
Nelson is a city at the top end of the South Island of New Zealand. Situated close to the geographical centre of New Zealand on the southern shores of Tasman Bay and with a population of about 45,500, this idyllic location is a popular tourist centre for Arts and Adventure holidays.
Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the bay area is gateway to some of the finest National Parks in the region including, Abel Tasman National Park, Kahurangi National Park and Lakes Rotoiti and Rotoroa in the Nelson Lakes National Park.

In addition to the artistic and adventure orientated vacations, Nelson is one of only a few areas to retain some exquisite examples of Victorian Architecture with the whole of South Street listed as a Heritage location. Some of the buildings include Amber House, Nelson Cathedral, Victorian Rose Pub and the wonderful Windmill at Founders Park.
The region boasts a vibrant atmosphere for shoppers and holiday makers alike. With family orientated parks offering Animal Farms and Zoological Parks for the children, Wellness Centres for relaxation for the parents and a wealth of activities from the sedate Horse Trekking to the highly energetic Rock Climbing, White Water Rafting and Jet Boating among many others.
