Sanctuary Cove Information
Sanctuary Cove is a suburb of Hope Island in Queensland which is a self contained residential environment. It is a very popular holiday destination as there are plenty of beautiful resorts and accommodation places located right on the Coomera River.
The area can be described as an environmental paradise and being located on the water channels it provides easy access to enjoyable water sports like jet skiing, waterskiing, boating, fishing, sightseeing charters and whale watching tours.
Coomera and Stradbroke islands are also nearby for the environmental enthusiast to discover. When staying at Sanctuary cove, Stradbroke Island is one of the most popular spots for people to take a day trip to. Stradbroke Island can only be accessed by private boats or the passenger ferry which leaves from Cleveland. The island is unique in that half is mined for minerals and the other half of the island remains a very popular spot for the holiday visitors to enjoy.
Most day visitors to Stradbroke Island tend to spend the day at three unique spots on the island. Surfing action and beach action can be found at Point Lookout. Amity Point provides the best fishing action although it is much smaller and the third hot spot is the centre of Dunwich which has the islands township and shopping facilities. Just so you know the only pub located on the island is at point lookout.
Apart from enjoying the beautiful beach and marine lifestyle there is also plenty of golfing action. The most popular of three golf courses in the area is the Sanctuary Cove Golf Course. Built in 1987 the golf course has 18 holes and is set in magnificent scenery that will make any traveller feel like a star. This world class golf and country club also has memberships available and many travellers have enjoyed their experiences so much that they have become residents of the area.
