Warwick Information

Located in the heart of Queenland’s Darling Downs is the peaceful town of Warwick. The perfect mixture of country and city culture makes this the one of the most beautiful of places to visit.

Dubbed the rose and rodeo capital of Australia, Warwick is a town with something for everyone. The red Arofuto rose grows in abundance, and a stroll through Leslie Park is a stunning experience for the senses. The annual rodeo is held every October, and is followed by the month long Rose and Rodeo Festival.

A walk thought the town’s streets will guide you past some of Queensland’s finest and well-preserved pioneer settlements and sandstone buildings. The Fitz Cottage is an interesting place to visit and tells the story of Warwick’s settlement in the 1870’s.

Another heritage attraction is the Glengallan Homestead, where you will receive a glimpse of the lifestyle lived by Warwick’s wealthy colonialists. The house was uninhabited and in ruins for 75 years before being restored.

Warwick is rich in sporting and leisure activities for all ages. Take a trip to Leslie Dam or Connolly Dam for a day of sailing, water skiing and fishing. The nearby Queen Mary Falls and Cunningham Gap National Park are spectacular sights and are not to be passed-by. There are also numerous gold fossicking areas in surrounds for the curious explorer.

A number of tourist drives may appeal, and include the beautiful Sunflower and Cedar Routes, the leisurely Sprint Route and the informative Settler’s Route.

For those keen for a most thrilling adventure, visit Warwick’s Morgan Park. Just five minutes from the CBD, various motor sports are held here every weekend. The park boasts 2.2 kilometres of sealed circuit, a 200 metre drag strip with a 550 metre braking area, and a motocross track with large pit areas.
