Adelaide is the capital of South Australia and the fifth largest city in Australia with a population of about 1.4 million people. The city is named after Queen Adelaide and was first established on the 28th December 1836.

Adelaide also features plenty of parks for the wildlife lover or picnicking enthusiast. The Adelaide Botanic Garden features interpretive trails and is the most popular. Elders Park however is a great one to see as you can hire paddleboats and bicycles to make the day more enjoyable.
Another great place to visit in Adelaide is the National Wine Centre of Australia. The centre showcases the winemaking industry, comes complete with wine tasting and is located on Hackney road near the city Botanic Park.
