Separation Creek Information
Separation Creek in Victoria is a small holiday coastal township just 1 kilometre from Wye River. The MacRea brothers settled the nearby area of Separation Creek back in 1882. Separation Creek gets its name as the area is separated from Wye River by a small creek that runs from the Ocean 2 kilometres inland through the Angahook Lorne State Park.
There are some amazing beach spots in Separation Creek and the surfing is great. Holidaymakers come here to relax beachside and go surfing. The best surfing spots are just a few kilometres away at Wye River and Kennet River that provide shore breaks and reef surfing. There is some fantastic fishing spots for any angling enthusiast as well.
With plenty of walking tracks to discover and some stunning natural scenery, Separation Creek makes an ideal Australian holiday. The wildlife in the area in particular Koalas are abundant and live naturally in the wild around the town. On most holiday properties you can see wonderful birdlife that will come to your balcony or doorstep. There are plenty of Kookaburras, King parrots, Cockatoos and more.
Although there are no shops in Separation Creek a great place to eat out is at the Wye Beach Hotel, which was formerly known as the Rookery Nook Hotel. Here you can dine in a pleasant atmosphere with spectacular ocean views.
Bike riding in Separation Creek is also a good activity to do. There are plenty of cycle paths and it provides an excellent leisurely holiday pace. Bicycle riding is a good way to get around town.
